Sukhoi Civil Aircraft and Avialeasing announced the signature of a Heads of Agreement for the delivery of the Sukhoi Superjet 100 regional aircraft.
Under this document, signed by Victor Soubbotin, Sukhoi Civil Aircraft Company’s President, and Avialeasing’s Deputy Chairman of the Board of Directors Victor Novikov, the leasing company acquires 24 Sukhoi Superjet 100 aircraft in basic configuration with a further option for 16 additional aircraft. The order has a total value of over $630 million.
One of mid-term goals set up by Avialeasing is to provide Russian airlines with new aircraft. With Sukhoi Superjet 100, the first regional jet of the 21st century, the lessor will be capable of offering its customers modern, cost-effective, environmentally friendly aircraft with mainline level of comfort.
“We are confident that Sukhoi Superjet 100 allows for increased economical efficiency of regional flights at reasonable expense and will be on demand from Russian airlines”, - said Victor Novikov, speaking of the aircraft’s future.
“We are delighted to see that Sukhoi Superjet 100 expands its presence on the Russian market. The company already has 73 firm orders. Today, upon completion of the first stage factory flight tests, I’m sure it will meet airlines’ expectations”, - added Victor Soubbotin, commenting the deal.
The firm contract is expected to be signed within 6 months. Sukhoi Superjet 100/95 successfully completed its maiden flight in Komsomolsk-on-Amur on May 19, 2008 and has currently completed 25 flight hours over nine flights.

SCAC currently employs 2000+ people, and holds branches at the main production sites located in Komsomolsk-on-Amur and Novosibirsk.
«Avialeasing» - belongs to a market driven group of companies Avialeasing, focused since 1996 solely on aircraft lease. “Expert-RA Rating Agency” granted in 2007 to Avialeasing the 4th place among leasing companies operating in Russia in terms of new business volume in aviation segment. In the past decade Avialeasing group accomplished such projects as PS-90A engines continuing airworthiness, deliveries on terms of operational leasing and sales of TU-204-100, TU-154B, TU-154M, YAK-40 aircraft to Russian airlines. The deal is managed by a subsidiary – Avialeasing – Regional Aircraft.
